So minimum wage last year 2019 was $8.55 now Ohio minimum wage is changing to $8.75, who can live off of that in today’s economy?
I believe that it’s sad for Ohioans who may not know any better when it comes down to their life and believe that they are in a good place financially and for some I guess, but through my line of work which is Healthcare, I see the struggle on a daily.
I work for an employer who really does not care about people, the type of person that if you don’t ask she will not offer even if you deserve it, but your upbringing might not have been the greatest due to your teachers(Mother and Father) who wasn’t able to teach you because they wasn’t taught properly, so the employer use it to their advantage.
The type of employer that allows the elderly who has been a loyal employee for 16 years before she was ever given a raise, the type of employer that hope her staff is on some type of Government Assistance to make it easier not to have to pay.
The type of employer that will help you out just to keep you around(Indebted to them), the type of employer that will allow their children to walk right pass you without speaking.
What type of employer do you have? Do you want to continue to have an employer or do you want to be the employer? Do you want to be the type of employer that treats people like you want to be treated?
Me myself I am tired of being someones punching bag, I am tired of being abused, I am tired of knowing my work ethics and they’re not being appreciated, I tell a lot of employers your staff is only as good as you and if you don’t really care about your people it will show and if you care about yourself you will get to running fast with this type of employer, but after you have secured another job.
Paying only minimum wage to an employee will only create a shitty performance, people will not be driven enough to care even though they chose the job, but again does that mean not to teach people because they don’t know any better. I also feel like if they didn’t do the job, who would?
We have to be grateful for some people that are willing to work the jobs that we don’t want to work. EX: A fast food worker, A Home Health Aide, any type of low paying job somebody has to do it, then you have your Mail Carriers, Environmental, higher end paying jobs somebody has to do it, but with these type of workers they have to be outside in the cold and I Do Not like being cold, so Thank You for what you do.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s.
